USS Bangust Reunion 2005

 

Sorry to have been so long in getting this to you. I have had surgery and am now on the mend.

 

I am happy to announce that our reunion this year will be in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I had hoped to have it in Newport, Rhode Island, but could not get reasonable accommodations before November, when it is too cold and everything seems to shut down for the winter.

 

The date for this reunion is from Wednesday, October 12 to Saturday, October 15, 2005.

 

Pittsburgh is actually a great place for our reunion. It is more accessible and there is much to see and do, riverboat dinner cruises, Duckboat tours, sightseeing tours of the steel baron's homes and lots more.

 

I have reserved space at the Pittsburg Hilton and they have given us a good rate for a city that is a popular tourist spot as well as an area of cultural interests, the symphony, museums, and theaters. Something for everyone. You're going to like it!

 

The rate for a single or double room will be $94 plus 14% tax. There is parking (at a fee) on the premises and also nearby. Rates vary according to proximity to the hotel. There is transportation to the hotel by bus from the airport. Price depends on which bus is taken, but it is much more reasonable than taxi service. I will give you further information at a future dates.

 

You can make your reservation by calling the hotel (1-800-445-8667). Mention, of course, that you are with the U.S.S. Bangust Reunion group. You may pay by credit card or check.
